The taste is quite similar to Dortmunder Union Siegel Pils, only the beer is more "bekömmlich" as the Germans say - roughly translated this means that it feels good when you drink it, so no bloated feeling in your stomach or Heineken headache.

Michael Jackson has this as the better of the two well-known Dortmunder Exports (the other is from DAB). I found it had pleasant traces of melons and honeyed grassy hops in the aroma, and a honeyed malty palate with gentle citric hints, very mild for a pale lager and nicely balanced with malted milk in the finish, but nothing gobsmacking. The brewery has recently gone back to an older name, Brinkhoff's, and is a key member of the Brau und Brunnen grouping.

Slightly fruity - wonderful with curry!
