Lovely hoppy notes escape from the bottle with the tchzzss ... advance warning that this beer is in the upper echelons of the German pils league table. Even my wife commented how tasty it was when she was forced to steal a bottle when she ran out of Cava! Reminiscent of Bitburger at its best (I believe this also has Feinherb on its label) with hoppy, delicate bitterness, and absolutely none of that dark cloying alcoholly taste that such beers as Holsten Pils exhibit (if you know what I mean - I'm no Jilly Gooden or Sparks). The closest I have come to tasting this beer is purchasing a 1L ceramic Lowenbrau mug at an antique store. I don't think it is available in the US. Sounds like I'm not missing much.

This is the best beer I have ever tasted and ever since I had it in Munich I have been buying it here in Texas and have been drinking it ever since.

Mild flavor, no bad aftertaste. A good beer.

Very smooth, I prefer the Lowenbrau brewed in Germany, has a different flavour than the brew in North America.

I'd like to know where you can get the stuff brewed in Germany? The suppossed authentic stuff in the states is brewed in Canada and tastes like a cross from real Lowenbrau and Molson.

This is supprising, it's one of the cheapest beers available in the Dutch Supermarket Discounter Aldi. So from that point of view it has a great quality/price ratio

Joris - We used to have a quality/price index worked out using some complicated equation... but we decided it wasn't that useful. However, there are some beers that stand out particularly in terms of quality/price: take a look at Newquay Steam Bitter, for example.
