This lager is ubiquitous on the 'island continent' of Madagascar - often seen served in these large bottles at any time of day. It is quite strong, but served at low temperature it keeps the heat at bay.
It pours with a large head, and has an aroma of lager ... perhaps some butter too. Again, in the mouth it is like any nondescript lager from a hot country - and the higher ABV doesn't come through because of the cold. It is perhaps slightly oniony. Not worth seeking out, unless you are already in Madagascar, when it is a must.

Drank a lot of this when visiting Antananarivo, after all, there is not much choice, and it is real cheap. But it is good beer, tastes like many American brands.

I have just had a bottle of this beer found in a liqour store from Bemidji, MN. Now that was a one of the best beers I have tasted in a long time, brought back memories from Mad!

just got off the phone with "Pete" at Binny's Beverage Depot-Grand phone:312-332-0012 in Chicago, he said he's got 4 cases in stock....$21.98 a case......best bet is to call John Labelle with Stawski Imports 773-278-4848...he is a distributor in Chicago...and he can let us know where/if/when he distributes the beer to.......best of luck.......when are we going to make a road trip........

Yup I agree. an undistinguished beer but a must in Madagascar especially when that is all there is. I wouldn't look for it elsewhere because it tastes alot like Canadian beers. I was recently back in Germany and still love Parkbrau Pils.
