Cheap supermarket lager for the masses. Brazilian Skol is a slightly stronger and sweeter version of that UK Skol that was so popular with party gate-crashers in the seventies, who just as easily would opt for Harp in cans. However, super chilled Skol is very refreshing on a hot day.

Pretty Good!

Simply the best Brazilian beer!

I don't like this beer. It is too light and the after taste is bad! Doesn't taste like beer!! You can drink it only if it's very cold, so you won't really taste it. But it's not the worst, there are some beers that are realy disgusting (Kaiser, Colonia, Nova Schin...) There are better Brazilian Beers, as Brahma (more taste, and not so bad), Brahma Extra (a little stronger), Bohemia (reminds me of the French Kronnenbourg - it's good comparing to the average Brazilian beers), and of course, the beers from small brewerys like Eisenbahn (Blumenau) and Baden Baden (Campos do Jordão).
Marco Zimmermann

According to the Ambev site it is:
"A typical light beer with a refined aroma, with a lighter and smoother flavor than other Pilsener beers on the market, a less accentuated bitterness content, and medium alcoholic content."
That sounds just like standard chemical fizz to me. And bearing in mind that Ambev (The American Beverage Company) is now owned by Interbrew and the picture of the bottle (and can) look very much like that standard Eurofizz Skol, I think that this is all it is.

Marco Zimmeramnn's posting is a pretty good summary of Brazilian beers - Brahma is better than most and "chopp" is the best Brahma beer.

This beer serves an unique goal: Refreshment. It is supposed to be served almost to the freezing point, by the beach, in a hot day. A popular with college students, because of its low price and light taste, making it perfect for serious alcohol abuse. And that's it. There's no taste, no aroma, but it is a favourite because it represents something bigger in the Brazilian psyche. Believe me. Marco Zimmerman really put it right: The good beers in Brazil are brewed in small breweries. The rest is crap. The only only that saves itself is Bohemia. Forget the rest.

The best Brazilian Beer, the taste is good, and this beer is loved by more than 50 of the Brazilian. [Score: 10]

Quote "...The best Brazilian Beer, the taste is good, and this beer is loved by more than 50 of the Brazilian. [Score: 10]..."
Which, if true, says very little for the discernment of the 50 Barzilians mentioned by Marcus Vinicius Pereira Mendonça. Mind you, out of a population of many millions of Brazilians, I suppose a total of just 50 who like this rubbish isn't too much of a condemnation!

it tastes like a horses anus
B End

Quote "...it tastes like a horses anus..." As this is a colourful and interesting analogy, could we perhaps have a poll to establish how many contributors have sampled horses' anuses? And, when taking the poll, could we also establish as to whether a single sampling is sufficient to establish a basis for comparison, or whether horse anus taste specialists require that a range of the said organs are tasted.

Bohemia is king! I wish someone would import it to the UK. Does anyone?
Anthony. W.

It's the same chemical fizz that InBev manufacture here. You don't need to go to Brazil to sample its ghastly fizzy nothingness.
