Great looking IPA a light crystal clear brown with a good sized pure white head. Good lacing. This has a "kick ass" IPA aroma.. very hoppy and fresh. The taste surprisingly has a slight chocolatey feel to the immense bitterness that invades the tastebuds half way through the sip.. strange yet exhilarating.. then a slight mineral flavour then even more hop bitterness at the end. Very nice palate.. smooth with a long lasting aftertaste. A most quaffable IPA.. one of the better from the West Coast. Review submitted by: Kevin Reid |

I actually liked this - it had a strange kick! All hail the hoppmeister!

For a beer with flavor rating "0", it was surprisingly good!

California seems to be good with ales of all sorts: IPAs, etc. Anderson Valley definitely ranks up there. There are also some other big hop breweries, such as Ballast Point--try their
Big Eye I.P.A. and
Yellowtail Pale Ale. I pick them up from my local Arco here in San Diego when my Beverages and More and Trader Joe's are closed...not bad for a local brew. Of course, Stone brews are always available at my grocery store too...

The rating should be in the 7.5 - 8.0 range... agreat IPA!!
