Four bottles remain since original purchase (2003?) via mail-order (MJ's Belgian club, now the Rare Beers club). This is a triple-fermented (Sacch, Brett), bottle-conditioned "proef" ale that upon its arrival was exceedingly sour, utterly strange, a kind of battleground for the yeasty beasties and bacteria to fight for dominance. Not bad, mind you, just not quite ready.
And oh, how it has changed. After several years hops are quite prominent, lending considerable cheesiness to the profile. Lactic quality remains strong, but sourness has mellowed.
Pours near-brilliant, golden; yeast cake in the bottom - collection & analysis would be an interesting homebrew experiment.
Did I mention that this isn't for every taste? But it you are intrigued by unusual fermentations and strong flavors, you must try this.

Oregon, USA Just bought and drank this; one of the rare lighter colored beers that I like. No identifying dates on the bottle. Bought, brought home, poured in stages into a frosty mug (kept foaming to the top despite my care and slow pouring) and drank fairly quickly. I don't have the usual vocabulary to describe why I like it, but I find it _very_ strongly flavored, yet the aftertaste is limited, and pleasant. I often don't care for 'hoppy' beers, but I believe this would be classified as one, and I like it.

I wouldn't really recommend a frosty mug, there are very few GOOD beers that should be drank at that temperature. Budweiser and Miller don't count. Try drinking this delightful beer at cellar temperator in a brandy snifter.

Simply Amazing. Hands down the most unique brew I've ever had. In a world of beers that lull one to sleep, this wonderfully wild ale smacks your eyes open with an exotic palatte.
