500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger, Norway. Filtered and pasteurised. ABV is 5.5. Obviously a different brew from the cask version of Adnams Explorer, which is only 4.3 ABV. Brewed with American Chinook and Columbus hops. Golden colour, large foamy head. Pleasant hoppy aroma and flavour, both with notes of citrus and dry white wine. Bitter finish. Okay beer, but I’d like the malts to come through too.

An excellent beer, I would rate it slightly above the Adnams Bitter. Well worth a try!

Disappointing, slightly cloudy, nothing like the New World and New England beers it purports to be. My advice - give it a wide berth unless you are desperate for a 5.5% beer at a reasonable price.

Agreed, tastes rather sharp and lemony, disappointingly cloudy (nothing on label to suggest that this is 'normal').

Nice clear beer with a sustained head. Drinks with refreshing citrus and hoppy tang and sufficient malt to make it clearly an ale and not a larger. I drank it with a curry which it accompanied with brio.

[Bottle from Adnams brewery shop, Southwold] Slightly darker than I expected from the "blond beer" description. No head at all; medium carbonation, exactly right for the style. Strong citrus (grapefruit and lemon) balanced with a refreshing bitterness and a fair whack of malt. Still the Adnams flavour here though, tastes like a Broadside mixed with Hooegarden! A top notch beer when you're thirsty, this also goes very well with spicy food. A beer I'd definitely return to.(8/10)
