FelinfoelDouble Dragon AleABV % Vol 500 ml bottle UK Flavour 8.5

This is a very good Welsh ale from a venerable brewer. Its cousin, Hercules Ale, was one of the finest ales in the world (in my estimation), but seems to be sadly discontinued. A difficult brewery to find, but well worth it for the British ale lover. Review submitted by: Craig Druitt |

Not that hard to find if you come from South Wales! Felinfoel were, I belive, the first British
Brewery to put beer in cans. I find it hard to forgive them for that.

Better on draught, gives a classic hangover if drunk in quantity, hence:- feelin foul.

Great stuff, but tough to find in the States, due to the importer's mucking about with his distributors.

I'm fortunate enough to live in St. Louis, MO where we have two pubs that serve Double Dragon. It's far and away my favourite ale. I just wish it were easier to buy. I'd love to have it on tap in my flat....

Bottled Sampled. Deep brown in colour with a good thick head. Flavour is all malt, sweetness coming through, rich in flavour and mouthfeel. Could be less subtle on the hops. Very drinkable, but again the cask conditioned is much better. (7/10 for the bottled)

Being From Dyfed where its brewed i may be bias, but i an world dominated by big name beers its rare to find one as refreshing a Double Dragon. Its taste makes up for its lacking in alcohol content (being under 5%)

This was once a regular guest beer a few years ago in my old local, Welch's Ale House (AKA Welch Brothers). Fond memories indeed...

I've had it both from the can and cask. The can is good, but the cask is simply outstanding. Too bad its not more readily available in the USA...I'd be their #1 customer!

No pubs in Sussex seem to stock these Felinfoel beers these days. Anyone know where I can buy Double Dragon either in pubs in Sussex, offies or online?? Yours in desperation.....

First sampled this about 20 years ago, whilst on holiday at the Royal Oak in Usk, I firmly beleive that this is the best pint I have ever had (and I've had a few) I have told the landlord of our local pub that if he gets it a guest ale, he will have to make me a bed up :)

Anne, You can buy online at wwww.felinfoel-brewery.com.

Any way to buy this beer in the US? Thanks!

A tidy pint, which I used to drink when I grew up in West Wales. Now stuck in Lincolnshire. Where the B.H. can I buy it locally?

Sampled cask at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004, gravity dispense. This is now the only cask ale from Felinfoel. Chestnut colour. Malty aroma, hints of sulphur. Flavour is malty sweet, sulphurous and dusty. Very low on hops. Dusty aftertaste.

I also live in St. Louis, Missouri. Dressel's Pub is the place to enjoy a pint or two or three...

Fabulous beer, they just released a Stout at 4.1% and its fantastic. A real contender Mr Guinness

One of the best ales I've ever had. Used to get it in St. Louis at Dressler's Pub but now must rely on my brother-in-law's trips to the UK to pick up a couple of bottles!

Hi I have a question I found a can of Double Dragon Export Ale in my yard several years ago. I am trying to get a general date on it. It includes this import info Imported by Florin LTD
P/O BOX 569, Front Royal VA 22630 USA. It has deposit and redemption info on it. The top of the can even gives instructions on how to pop the top. It is a 11 Fl. oz can any help?

I can remember this being served at the White Swan pub in Crayford, Kent and I'm going back 16/18 years ago. I remember it as a wonderful beer and would love to know where to get my hands on some now (I live in Switzerland now so I guess no chance).

Where did this wonderful ale go?
Is it lost forever?
Does anybody care?

I picked it up in Waitrose the other day, sold as part of their 3 pack selections of 'Great British Beers'. Very nice! Never seen it anywhere else though.
Laivasse
I have just recieved a bottle of this in a selection pack. Although it is dark and quite malty it is very easy drinking, if not a little bit too light. Very nice though and I can imagine it would be great on draught. Mine came from realbeerbox.com if you colonials are having trouble sourcing it!

The best pint given to man! Full of flavour and quality. It was the first beer to be put into a tin in 1935. They do sell it on the internet for a competitive price. xxx

Brought one home from North Devon in a variety case a couple Christmases ago. My then 25 year old son proclaimed it the best he'd ever drunk. I'm due back to Somerset and Devon in the next couple weeks and hope to score a whole six-pack. Any suggestions where to locate one in Chard or Barnstaple?

Very Nice
