I was stationed in Bitburg, Germany in late 50s. Where can I find Dortmunder here in the New Orleans, LA area? I enjoyed it very much. It had a snap cap on it they and was a tall bottle. I look at the ones they have now I don't know which one it was. Thank you.

Love it! Used to drink it in New York in the '80s. It was available in select beer outlets. Its sister beer, DAB, is very good, too.

Dortmunder Union is great. Discovered it whilst in Dusseldorf in Spring 95. I have a importer near me who keeps me sane by selling me the stuff (500ml bottles!!)

In London in the 70s and 80s it was the only beer to go with a curry. Really refreshing. Sadly, in an attempt to become more authentic London Indian restaurants now sell Indian lager, which is NOT AS GOOD!

I'm from Dortmund and I don't live far away from the brewery. I consider Dortmunder Union as one of the better beers... and there are much better ones here in Dortmund than only DAB. I love Kronen and Brinkhoffs.

Dorty. Cant beat it. It is the daddy of all beers. I got dortied up on 10 pints last Saturday and didn't have a hangover. Which other beers can boast this? Great.

Dorty is the lord of lager. Don't give too much to 15 year old boys though i.e Perkinstein.

Dorty is the greatest beer ever invented although it's only available in the UK in a few select locations i.e. A.B.C.C. It's also worth mentioning that the Dortmunder Champion is currently J. Pownall who can down 11 Dorty's in one evening. If anyone can better this immense feat, please post a message on this site.

I agree with Macca - DAB does seem popular here in Liverpool. My local independent shop sells it at six 500ml for £5 - a price it's held for about 5 years! And for those unfortunates who can't find it, I'm sipping one at the moment! Delicious.

I had some Dortmunder Union bier at the annual Oktoberfest in Tuscaloosa, AL. a few years ago. We all bought the left over 500ml beermugs for $1.00 per 6 of them, still in the shipping boxes. Great beer by the way.

I was stationed in Dortmund in the mid 70s. I found the range of beers produced pleasnt and refreshing, although, DAB was a particular favourite.

dab is a great beer, I drink it all the time, am having it now as I browse. If Baz is reading this, I have done in 17 or 18 half litre cans in one night on many occasions, I can't say no.
